Why do most talk shows have celebrities on for the liberal view point?

Watch Bill Mahr – he’ll have a economist like Stephen Moore on for the conservative viewpoint – then Tim Robbins for the liberal viewpoint.
Is there a lack of real liberal minds?

They use the dumb Hollywood celebrities as puppets, essentially.
If they provide enough liberal fluff on the talk show, they in turn get publicity.

because the media has a general liberal slant, so the people they give shows to must share that slant or they don’t get shows. Since they lean left, they find guests who lean left so they don’t have fights on their shows.

Not at all. I think that they just want the draw of having a celebrity on the show. It’s more likely that there is a lack of celebrity republicans (seriously think about, how many can you name?), of course there are some, but the majority of Hollywood is liberal. For a show that is equal parts entertainment and politics, they will want to have speakers who appeal to the viewer and celebrities do that (although not always). If you look on the news shows, you’ll find that they do show liberal economists, politicians, etc. because they care less about entertainment value (although not always much less in the case of some news shows).

..Mike Taibbi, Bernie Sanders, Naomi Klein, James Carville, Madeline Albright, Paul Krugman, et al…would you be kind enough to tell me what movies they have been in?

No there definitely isn’t a lack of liberal minds, but celeb’s have more power. We won’t listen to the intelligent smart guy, we listen to our idols. So like said before, they are puppets.
