No, there are many pro-life Democrats, mainly in the South and Midwest (i.e. Senators Mary Landrieu from Louisiana and Harry Reid from Nevada, and Bob Casey from Pennsylvania come to mind)

hypocrite? no. You don’t have to follow all the tendencies to be in a political party. You can vote republican if you want. Most people tend to ignore the issues and just blindly vote for their party without ever considering the other sides

Why would that make you a hypocrit? Aside from that abortion is not wrong. All it does is prevent a collection of cells from forming a baby. Why is that wrong?

No. Don’t buy into the Republican stereotype of a Democrat. I’m a Dem and don’t believe in abortion either.

Not at all. You don’t have to agree with the democrats 100%, just the majority of their ideas.

Not at all. You probably consider yourself a democrat because you agree with them more on other topics than you do the republicans. Following a party does not mean you have to agree 100% with what they say, but that you agree with them more often than the other party. The people who agree with their party 100% of the time should really take a second and look at whether or not they truely believe what they are saying or are just towing the party line.

Joining or supporting a political party is not the same thing as joining a church. There is no absolutist doctrine you have to adhere to. No, you are not a hypocrite. Some Democrats don’t believe abortion should be legal, and many others believe there should be more limitations on the right to have an abortion.

No. It makes you a moderate, more mainstream ,a good thinker, and an individualist! I am a Republican that’s pretty much against capital punishment, it only makes me a moderate, not a hypocrit. I hope you vote! You are the stuff that this nation is made of!

Not at all, it makes you a wonderful individual that can think for herself. I respect you a lot for that.

I am very much against abortion myself. The difference I have with the Right Wing is that I don’t believe the best way to deal with the problem is passing a law that tells a woman she must carry to term no matter what. I believe that through education and open discussion we could eliminate or nearly eliminate abortion. However there are those that almost violently resist any type of sexual education except “abstinence.”

What truly amazes me is that Religious Fundamentalists don’t accept the fact that the strong sexual urges of youth are just part of the natural process that God gave us to ensure survival of the species. Instead, they choose to believe it is something dirty and ugly.
